 A Summer Camp at Ash Lawn-Highland

           Come and experience the world of James Monroe the planter aend statesman. Take part in land negotiations as Monroe did through his emissaries with the American Indians. Learn to preserve vegetables, use a drop spindle, dip candles, and make rope, just as members of the enslaved population would have done. Throw in some archaeology, period games, the language of the fan, and other aspects of life in Monroe’s household and you’ll have a fun filled week at Ash Lawn-Highland. You can’t even imagine all the other fun and engaging activities awaiting you at summer camp at Ash Lawn-Highland.
July 12 -16 rising 5th, 6th, and 7th graders
July 19 – 23 rising 3rd and 4th graders
Camp hours 9:00 -1:00

Cost: $120 per session. Scholarships available, transportation not provided by Ash Lawn-Highland

Ash Lawn-Highland is open daily from 9 am to 6 pm. Tours are $10 for adults, $9 for seniors and AAA members, and $5 for children (ages 6 to 11) and local residents (Albemarle, Augusta, Buckingham, Fluvanna, Greene, Louisa, Nelson, Orange and Rockingham counties).  Ash Lawn-Highland is located off I-64, exit 121, past Jefferson’s Monticello at 1000 James Monroe Parkway.
