Ash Lawn-Highland’s 16th Annual WineFest Will Be Swinging on May 22 and 23

With spring in the air, there’s no better venue for an outing than Ash Lawn-Highland’s 16th annual WineFest on May 22 and 23 at the home of President James Monroe.  There will be wines from some of Virginia'a notable wineries and live music. Add in carefully-selected artisans and food crafters, a house tour with knowledgeable guides, cows mooing in the pasture, a souvenir wine glass for tasting, music by the Rock River Gypsies and the day is set.  The Festival is held rain or shine, with cover at the Hilltop Pavilion and in tents from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day.

The Festival’s wine samplings can be paired on the spot with a variety of food by Culinary Expressions and other vendors.

Admission is $15 for advance reservations (through May 21 only), $20 at the door and $7 for children under 12. For reservations, call 434-293-8000 between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m..

Ash Lawn-Highland is open daily from 11 am to 5pm November – March, and 9am to 6pm April – October. Tours are $10 for adults ($9 for seniors and AAA members) and $5 for children (ages 6 to 11) and local residents (Albemarle, Augusta, Buckingham, Fluvanna, Greene, Louisa, Nelson, Orange and Rockingham counties).
